The OEM covers typically break within a year or two after the vehicle was made. They originally are designed to let air out similar to an airplane releasing pressure when you shut your door or at high elevation. They also give the hot air when you are running your AC somewhere to go. But as time goes on the OEM ones get stuck open due to dirt or mud, leaving a big hole for dirt and debris to enter. All of our vent covers offer a charcoal filter option as well as a fully sealed option to fit your application. We recommend using the filter to keep the function the same as OEM but if you are mainly using your vehicle for off-roading then sometimes it’s best to fully seal it off.
This 96-02 4runner Vent Cover replaces the OEM cover under your stock bumper. This Cover is 100% plug and play and requires no drilling or cutting for installation. The front plate bolts to the rear plate creating a sandwich method which is better than any other mounting option on the market. This way there are no clips that often crack or warp from the sun. Everything required for installation is included.

I have a tube bumper on the back so it looked really weird with the stock one and this makes it look better. Only complaint was taking the stock one out.
